Critical Care

A nine bedded Critical Care Unit caring for level 2 and level 3 patients.

Experience will be gained in care of invasive monitoring, ventilation and haemofiltration; with a strong emphasis on providing a caring and supportive environment for patients and their families.

Ideally, staff will have had previous ward or department experience, and a 6 to 8 week induction programme will be given.

There is an expectation that successful staff will complete training to be eligible to apply for the Critical Care Course within 18 months. This will be supported by the Unit Practice Based Educator.
