Dr Foster’s Hospital Standardised Mortality Rate (a metric which Professor Jarman helped to develop) for the period July 2016- June 2017 (i.e. the most up-to-date mortality data) shows that Tameside’s mortality for ‘Septicaemia (except in Labour), Shock’ is actually less than expected, and better than the national mean, with an index of 96.6.
