Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs)

As an Operating Department Practitioner here at Tameside & Glossop, you can play a vital role in each phase of a patient’s perioperative care, including anaesthetic, surgery and recovery. Working in the surgery team, managing and preparing the operating theatres, you will be the link between the surgical team and other parts of the operating theatre. At Tameside and Glossop we have a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and devices that safely secure the patient’s airway during anaesthesia.

Our team is dedicated to providing the highest standard of patient care, while maintaining dignity, and respecting cultural, religious and ideological requirements. Working here, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of specialities, including: Orthopaedics both Elective and Trauma, Colorectal, Breast, ENT, Gynaecology, Plastics, Dental and Ophthalmic surgery, and 24hr Emergency and Obstetric Theatres.
