Clinic 10, Fracture and Trauma and Orthopaedic clinic

The Fracture clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinic where patients may be seen by a nurse, have an x-ray and also see a consultant. We operate orthopaedic elective and fracture clinic sessions, providing all methods of casting requirements to facilitate treatment. The casting room is served by a mixture of qualified nurses and casting technicians, supported by health care assistants. Patients are seen either on a nurse led clinic or from the doctor’s clinic.

The department is working hard to reduce the need for patients to come to hospital. A&E and Orthopaedics are working together to support virtual fracture clinics, improving the service for patients and staff. In addition, the department works closely with the Surgical Appliances department, who have a variety of orthotics to assist treatments.
